Party Like A Pro
Mike Linder, Owner Of Event Effects Group and one-of-a-kind event venue Jet Runway Cafe located at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, has worked with everyone from international business tycoons to celebrities, throwing some of the swankiest high-profile events in South Florida.
Linder says transforming a space into an unforgettable party setting - be it your home or an empty airport hangar – is about color. For example, “gray is trending to be a hot color for the 2016 season," he says.
"Using a light neutral as a base really makes whatever color you choose pop. The trick is choosing a neutral that won't take away from your theme a...

Life In The Fast Lane
Ryan Hunter Reay may be the reigning Indy 500 Champion, but Ryan Hunter-Reay has only one thing on his mind at the moment – not waking toddler son ryden from the ever-important afternoon nap.
"Sorry i'm whispering," he says, "the baby is sleeping." This level of normalcy from the Fort Lauderdale native is exactly what makes him so endearing to his legions of fans. But life for Hunter-Reay will soon be anything but normal.
"It's amazing how much one race can change your life," says Hunter-Reay.
His new schedule involves daily sponsor appearances, team commitments, and media obligations. Last month, his wife Beccy and he attend...

$100 Hamburger is pilot slang for the practice of flying away for the sole purpose of grabbing a bite at a distant airport. The check for the meal is modest but the costs of flying your own plane to get to it are very high.

Jet Runway Café
Jet Runway Café is proud to announce The Zagat has ranked JET as one of the top restaurants in its Miami / South Florida Restaurants Guide.
“Look out for takeoffs and landings,” since you’re eating almost “right on the runway” of Ft. Lauderdale Executive Airport at this “cool,” “modern” breakfast and lunch spot serving “creative” American food that’s “professionally” served and easy on the wallet; besides the air show, it’s also a great place to “people- watch” on account of the “powerful” jet-setting clientele, says the Zagat Review (July 2013).
In all areas, Food, Décor, Service and Affordability Zagat rated JET excellent to extr...

A Runway Success
Inside a hangar on the edge of the tarmac at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport sits one of the best lunch spots in Fort Lauderdale.
Two weeks ago, I wouldn't have believed I'd ever write that sentence. But then, I found myself at Jet Runway Cafe.
You wend your way to the restaurant off Commercial Boulevard and arrive at what is truly one of the most-nondescript restaurant locations in the region. Off the parking lot, a nicely landscaped, covered walkway leads diners into one of those hangars. At 1 p.m. on a Thursday, the place was packed. I mean hopping.
Aside from a couple of well-placed decorative turbines, you'd never know that...
